International cooperation carried out by the Directorate of Vocational Education, University of Muhammadiyah Malang with several hospitals in Japan is starting to bear fruit. Wednesday (25/11), DPV-UMM dispatched 6 graduates of Nursing study program for a career in Japan. Director of DPV-UMM Tulus Winarsunu said, before the pandemic, DPV-UMM had dispatched 20 alumni. However, due to Covid-19, the sending of workers to Japan was stopped. "This departure feels quite special because it occurs during the pandemic, which is unlikely to be able to go to Japan," said Tulus.
Tulus said that until this November, DPV-UMM had dispatched 26 graduates of Nursing study programs, both D3 and S1. While in Japan they worked as care givers in several elderly hospitals with a 3 year contract period. After the contract period expires, they are expected to have passed the Kangoshi certification exam or Japanese licensed nurse.
